January Redevelopment Update

PROGRESS

Progress has continued at a pace of the past 3 months and the works are still running around 45 days ahead of the original program.

FourSq are now expecting to be finished by the end of June 2020.

If you haven’t been by recently all three floor slabs have been poured, the roof structure is in place and installation of the mechanical ducting has commenced.

Our initial funding target was $5M and we achieved that via grants of $1.5m from both the State and Federal Governments, $0.25 from Surf Coast Shire and almost $1.8M through the generosity of our members and supporters.

Achieving the initial funding target that was the trigger to enter into a contract but there is still much to do and more funding is required to cover the cost of a number of contract variations and the cost of fit-out.

The variations are the result of a reassessment of some design elements and the emergence of a few unknowns. To cover these costs and minimize any exposure when completed we are continuing to seek grant opportunities and continuing our fundraising activities.

If you have already contributed we would ask that you encourage your friends at Anglesea to support the rebuild to help us bridge the fundraising gap.

If not, the most valuable thing you can do is contribute or pledge funds toward the new Operations & Training Centre.
