Nipper Summer Program (U7 to U13)
Description
Anglesea Nippers is a highly social physical activity and education program that aims to develop a basic knowledge of water safety and surf awareness including:

Water and beach hazards

Safe practices in the ocean
-
Basic surf swimming and board skills
-
Sustainability of the ocean environment
-
Introductory competition skills
-
Basic knowledge of resuscitation and first aid
Anglesea SLSC offers several streams of surf education and sport for a minimal cost. The programs are designed for children aged 6 - 13 years on 1st October who have demonstrated minimum swim proficiency standards.​

The Nipper Summer intensive surf education Program is held over the two weeks following Christmas each year.
​
There is a strong focus on developing a sense of community and teamwork within age groups and across the program.
​
In addition Nippers will have the opportunity to extend themselves through informal and formal challenges and competitions.
​
The Nipper Summer Program concludes with an intra-Club competition (Club Champs) which is an opportunity for friendly competition in a relaxed Club atmosphere.
​
Nippers can continue on through the Club to complete their official Lifesaving qualifications including the Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) for Nipper aged 13-14 and the Bronze Medallion upon turning 15.

Pre-Requisites

Must be a financial Club member prior to registration (including parents/guardians)

Able to swim the distance required for the appropriate age groups as outlined in the Junior Preliminary Skills Evaluation Form Pool / Junior Preliminary Skills Evaluation Form Open Water.
