GAP YEAR PROGRAM JANUARY 2024

The year after obtaining their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), members can perform water safety for the Nipper Summer Program and participate in patrols, however some members may be looking for a little bit more!

The ASLSC Gap Year Program is aimed at those who completed their SRC last summer. The program will incorporate fun and immersive experiences through first aid scenarios, leadership and teamwork training, a social event, surf skills training and exposure to some different aspects of lifesaving. The sessions will utilise leaders with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds to provide an engaging and interactive program.

Course Dates

U15 Gap Year Program – 4 x 3-hour sessions, Monday 8 January to Thursday 11 January 2024.

Participants can register for the U15 Gap Year Program here. This year’s course fee is $40, which includes a custom Gap Year Tee and Social Event. We will require a minimum number of participants for the program to go ahead.

Pre-Requisites

Must be a financial Club member

Must hold a Surf Rescue Certificate or be eligible for Bronze (15 years old) by the end of 2024.

Skills Maintenance

An annual Skills Maintenance must be completed by 31 December 2023 to ensure the Surf Rescue Certificate award remains proficient.
