Rock2Ramp 2018 - results & race report

The 2018 Rock2Ramp was held today in perfect conditions at Point Roadknight beach today with a record number of swimmers from 7 to 70+ years taking part (1,022 to be exact!) Race results can now be viewed here. A full race report can be downloaded here. Below is a summary of the first, second and third place getters for the 2.5km and 1.2km swims. Surf'n'Turf Category winners were Carter Harris Smith, first across the line in a combined time of 49:04 and Rebecca Henderson, first female in a combined time of 0:50:05 (combined 1.2km swim and 8km run in RooRun times). Congratulations to all our well-deserved winners and to everyone who took the plunge today!

Take the plunge at Rock2Ramp this Friday

Will you be joining us at Point Roadknight in Anglesea on Friday for Rock2Ramp or Banana Boat SwimKids Series? Registrations are still open, with late entries accepted after noon on Thursday and on the day. Rock2Ramp is our annual open water swim with distances of 1.2km, 2.5km and a children’s swim event attracting about two thousand swimmers and spectators to Anglesea. Swimmers ranging in age from 7 to 80 will be hitting the waves from 10am on Friday, with conditions looking great! Rock2Ramp next Friday - call for helpers

Next week we hold our annual Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim event, incorporating Banana Boat SwimKids . This is a major fundraising event for the Club and we need your help to make it a success. Thursday 27th December 10.30am-1.30pm: Helpers needed to pack trailers at the offsite facility (Anglesea Industrial Estate, next to RACV) and then transport equipment to Point Roadknight to set up. Meet at the offsite facility at 10.30am. Friday 28th December 6.30am-8.30am: Helpers needed to set up the beach at Point Roadknight. First patrol of the season and first rescue

The first patrol of the season and start of Summer on Saturday also saw the first rescue of the season, with two swimmers getting into trouble about 200m offshore. Well done to patrollers James Sallabank and Will Ronis for springing into action. A timely reminder to always swim between the flags this summer!
