Lifesavers with Pride (LWP) are keen to continue their work this season helping clubs become more inclusive and welcoming to their LGBTIQ members, and to work with SLSA and the states to create a better structure to support inclusion across the board. This starts with them kicking off their Proud Beaches Scholarship for the summer 2020/21 season, promoting Surf Life Saving as somewhere that LGBTIQ people can feel welcome, safe and valued. The scholarship helps members of the LGBTIQ community join their local surf club by removing the financial barrier to becoming a lifesaver. Due to the ongoing situation in Victoria the Board of Directors confirmed last month that the Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club's 2019/20 Annual General Meeting would be held on Sunday 27 September 2020 from 11am on the online platform Zoom (details to come). RSVP We request members planning to attend RSVP by COB Wednesday September 23rd. You can RSVP by clicking this link and also register any apologies. This will enable the club to confirm in advance of the meeting date that we will have a quorum of eligible voting members (15+ needed). Members will be sent the AGM Zoom link, meeting guidelines and an electronic copy of the 2019/2020 Annual Report shortly after RSVP's close.

What an exciting time as the ASLSC Building Redevelopment reaches the final stages. No doubt we are all looking forward to summer in what has been an interesting year! Anyone who is still considering donating this is your last opportunity to be recognised as we need to organise the recognition honour boards.
The response and generosity from club members has been incredible and we are close to $5.2 million but would love to reach $5.5 million which is the ultimate cost of the building redevelopment. The Club has arrangements in place with the Bendigo Bank if required but it would be fantastic to not have to utilise that money.

With our growing Junior competition team we always need more officials and coaches and as a parent of a child who is involved in Surf sports we need you to do your bit to help the team and carnivals function. Everyone can complete an online Officials course which will give us the opportunity to share duties around at Carnivals. It will enhance your understanding of events and assist you in being able to communicate with your child about the sport. The prerequisites for the technical officials course are - 16 years plus - working with children check - SLSA membership The course fee is $50.00 which is paid through the SLSA payment gateway. Surf Coast - Area Winner Surf Coast - Most Improved The Lifesaving Operations Executive was impressed with the high level of patrol standards with many clubs during the Patrol Service Inspections achieving close to perfect scores. It's great to know our beaches are in such capable and efficient hands!
