Become a GoodSAM first responder

GoodSAM (Good Smartphone Activated Medics) is an advanced emergency alerting platform that connects people with qualified first aid responders to provide critical help while emergency services are on the way.

Life Saving Victoria has joined GoodSAM and invites suitably qualified members to register as a GoodSAM first responder.

Those registered under LSV will be able to be tasked to respond to incidents near their location, when they are active on the app.

The GoodSAM Responder App is available for iOS, Android and Windows phone users. (Please ensure you download the GoodSAM Responder App, not the GoodSAM Alerter App).

To register for GoodSAM as a LSV member you will need to:

  • be over 18 years of age

  • hold a current Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (AID) award and be a current and financial member of a lifesaving club, and

  • have a current Working with Children Check.

Please complete your online registration with the details below to ensure you can be correctly verified as an LSV member:

  • Organisation - Australia: Life Saving Victoria

  • Occupation - First Aider (e.g. Anglesea Life Saving Club)

  • Registration Body - N/A

  • Registration Number - N/A

  • Work ID or Certificate - attach copy of Driver's License or Working With Children's Check)

  • Expiry date of the certificate - list the expiry of your Advanced Resuscitation Technique (AID) award i.e. 31/12/2018

Once registered through the app, Life Saving Victoria will verify that you meet the minimum requirements and approve you as a GoodSAM responder. This means no user will receive taskings on the app until LSV verifies the minimum requirements.

It is an applicant's responsibility to ensure (via portal.sls.com.au) that their Advanced Resuscitation Technique (AID) award, membership and WWCC is current prior to downloading the app, and on an ongoing basis to continue to remain eligible as a GoodSAM responder.

For more information please refer to LSV's FAQ document, contact Lifesaving Operations or phone (03) 9676 6930.
