Advanced Lifesaving Camp
Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is now inviting Expressions of Interest from members who wish to attend the 2019 Advanced Lifesaving Camp to be held from Monday, 23 September 2019 to Friday, 27 September 2019.
Our goal for the Advanced Lifesaving Camp is to enhance the training and development of Gold Medallion Lifesavers and Lifeguard recruits, with a strong focus on high performance and practical learning.
Those wishing to gain first time employment as a seasonal lifeguard and/or event lifeguard for the 2019/2020 lifeguard period are strongly encouraged to attend the camp and attain the necessary advanced training and qualifications.

Proficient in the following;
Bronze Medallion (Cert II in Public Safety) Apply (Senior) First Aid / First Aid Advanced Resuscitation Technique Certificate / Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (AID) Spinal Management Award
- An 800m swim time of 14 minutes or less is required to achieve the Gold Medallion, and whilst highly desirable, a time greater than this does not preclude you from participating in the program. Participants are encouraged to train towards this goal prior, and an opportunity to complete the swim will be provided during the camp.

LSV will work with clubs to provide opportunities to gain any prerequisite awards required prior to camp. Candidates will not be able to attend the camp unless they are proficient in the pre-requisite awards and have reached the minimum age.
An information pack will be sent out regarding the Advanced Lifesaving Camp details and prerequisite award opportunities following receipt of the Expression of Interest.
