Refugee and migrant children welcomed to the surf at Anglesea
ASLSC hosted 40 children (aged 6 – 18) and parents from migrant and refugee backgrounds today as part of North Melbourne Football Club's Huddle program.
This was the first time at the beach for many and a number of participants had limited swimming ability and confidence swimming in waves (however loads of enthusiasm will be ever present!).
A big thanks to this years team lead by Naomi Symington and our amazing group in Water Safety who coached and mentored the children in the surf. Thanks also to the ASLSC Supporters Group who catered for the day (BBQ lunch) and Jim Geary who has been the driving force behind this initiative for many years.
SLSC Supporters Group and our amazing Water Safety crew.
