Nipper Registration Instructions

Steps for registering your child for Nippers
Nipper registrations open 1st October 2021 and close 1st December 2021. New membership applications and renewals must be completed prior to Nipper registration. Memberships are now open.
STEP 1 - Obtain your Working With Children Check (WWCC)

All members aged 18 years and older MUST hold a WWCC. Many people may already hold a WWCC with other organisations. If this is the case you must update your WWCC to add Anglesea SLSC and Life Saving Victoria to your list of organisations. 

If you do not hold a WWCC you must apply for one. 


Please read WWCC information on how to apply for/renew/update and report your WWCC to us.

Membership cannot be processed without a WWCC. As these can sometimes take some time, to avoid disappointment we urge you not to leave it until you are ready to register for the nipper Program to organise your WWCC.

STEP 2 - Renew/Apply and Pay for Membership

Please ensure you have renewed or applied for a membership for EACH member of your family who wants to be involved. Nippers are aged 6 to 13.

Memberships will not be processed unless all requirements have been met.

STEP 3 - Receive your Membership Confirmation Form &

Nipper registration password.

If paying via your SLSA Members Portal you will receive a payment receipt at the time of payment. The Club will receive a copy of this receipt. Once we have finished processing your memberships we will email your Membership Confirmation Form which will include a password to enable you to enrol your children into the  Nipper Program. 

STEP 4 - Complete a Preliminary Skills Evaluation for each Nipper

Due to Covid restrictions limiting pool access, this will be done during the first session.*Under 7 Nippers do not need to complete this form.

Starfish Nippers must complete a Medical Form.


Please note this Preliminary Skills Evaluation must be done every year and is a LSV requirement.

STEP 5 - Use the password provided on your Membership Conformation Form to Complete the Online Nipper Registration.

Nipper Registration CANNOT be completed until ALL membership requirements  and swim proficiency have been met.

Upload your Membership Confirmation Form (this is NOT your SLSA Payment Receipt) and Preliminary Skills Evaluation Forms (Medical Form if you are a Starfish Nipper).

PLEASE NOTE: A $25 per child Nipper levy has been introduced to assist with covering the increasing costs of purchasing and maintaining Nipper equipment (including appropriate maintenance, storage and repair of Nipper boards), the Nipper pack and the administration and running of the program. This covers the costs of all the summer sessions & enables your child to attend Dolphins sessions all year round. This fee is payable upon Nipper registration.

Vaccinations are required if you are involved in the club in the following capacities:

Patrolling member, club committee member, administrator, age manager, coach, official, water safety (12 yrs +), nipper parent/guardian attending program in person, training course participant (12+), course, event, nipper program helper, athletes aged 16 and over, attending LSV or club facility.

Members falling into the above categories must complete the LSV Vaccination Status Form.
