When you turn 18 you can:


  • Rescue Water Craft Operator via LSV

  • Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service Crew Member via LSV

  • Requalification: all awards must be Requalified by 31st December

  • Assessors Certificate: gain endorsements to assess lifesaving awards (new awards/requals)

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment: allows for you to train and assess lifesaving course and also course in the workplace


  • Consider joining Anglesea Surf Rescue as a Patrol Captain or Patrol Vice-Captain


  • Water safety at our holiday nippers program, Dolphins training, Nipper carnivals, Rock to Ramp

  • Duty Boats: if you hold a IRBC award then there is the opportunity for you to work as a Duty Boat member at both Junior & Senior Carnivals. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from expert drivers and crew form elsewhere in the state

  • Formal leadership position: consider taking on a role within the Club

Surf Sports:

  • Compete in U19 & Open events at Senior Carnivals.

  • Gain basic Officials and Coaching accreditations (see separate sections)

  • 18-25 Mentor Program
    Aims to develop young leaders to face the challenges of current and future leadership roles with the support of a mentor and an enhanced lifesaving network. It runs over six months and is targeted at emerging leaders that currently hold, or aspire to hold, a formal leadership role within their Club. E.g. Patrol Captains, Club Captains, Team Managers, Junior Coordinators, Chief Instructors and Committee Members. Applications typically need to be submitted by early September with course commencing at the start of the lifesaving season.

  • Building Leaders Scholarship
    A unique and innovative professional development and mentoring program and is the pinnacle of LSV’s Leadership Pathway. This program will provide you with opportunities to excel both personally and professionally through meaningful workshops, advanced leadership development and specialised training. Applications typically need to be submitted by late February with course commencing in May.

  • Senior High Performance Squad
    Available to U15+ athletes who have finished in the top three places at the State Championships in an individual event. This exposes participants to the best coaches and athletes in the state.

  • Female Leadership Network
