The 14th Annual Rock2Ramp was held on 28th December 2008 and was a fantastic event with a record 905 entries and was held in predominently great swimming conditions albiet on the last leg with a slight chop with the wind into swimmers faces made coming home hard work although the small swell helped a little.
Many tried to swim without wetsuits to try and win a 2XU wetsuit and first time a swim has rewarded skin swimmers with such rewards.
In the end it was a great swim course but a long 1.2 with the high tide. Frank Christian was the star of the day with a win in the plus 50 and also 4th in open.
Sam Sheppard swim in winning open by 30 m was impressive and exploded of the start line. Many tried to swim without suits to try and win a suit and first time a swim has rewarded skin swimmers with such rewards.
An international flavour was added to the swim this year with Brazilian swimmer Lisandra De Carvallo winning the female 30-39 age group.
Racetec Timing the offical race timekeepers website allows competitors to do some advanced sorting and profiling of results.
