Can I enter on the day?
We have always taken entries on the day, but it will depend on the day's conditions and numbers as to how many we will take. It's always better to pre register, especially if you want to be sure to get your correct t-shirt size

How long is the swim?
We set the course for a 1.2km swim, but as the tide comes in it will be slightly longer for the last waves.

I'm a pool swimmer and this is my first ocean swim. Will I be Ok?
This is an ocean swim, and as such there are currents and swells. The swim course is in a protected bay and is usually very pleasant. Should the Race Director and Water Safety Director deem it unsafe, the swim will be postponed

What is the course?
This year, we have provided swimmers with new highly visible race buoys. You must enter the water and proceed through the 2 green buoys. The U shaped course will be marked by a number of bright orange buoys. Swimmers must complete the course by swimming through the last 2 green buoys. The swim is complete when you have passed through the timing gate on the beach and your number is taken down

What happens if I get in trouble in the race?
The Anglesea SLSC provides the highest level of water safety per capita of all the swims in the area. Water safety consists of Rubber Duckies, Surf Skis and Rescue Boards in the water, all manned by competent Surf Lifesavers together with a medical center on land. If you feel you cannot go on, wave your hand over your head and you will be assisted immediately.
