Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim

The Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim is conducted at Point Roadknight beach, Anglesea in late December each year by the Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club.

The Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim consists of three events:

  • 1.2km Swim
  •  2.5km Swim
  • Kid’s Dash

In addition, the Rock2Ramp has partnered with the Roo Run to conduct the Surf & Turf Category as part of the 1.2km Swim. For more information refer here.

The Rock2Ramp is a member event of the Global Swim Series.

Anglesea SLSC looks forward to seeing you at the 22nd Rock2Ramp on Wednesday 28th December 2016. Entries will open in October 2016.

2015 Race Report:

The 21st Rock2Ramp Swim at Point Roadknight beach, Anglesea was held in perfect conditions on the 28th December 2015 – bright sunshine, 25 degrees and only a small swell. These were almost perfect conditions for the 928 entrants.

The popular 2.5km swim was won by Sam Sheppard and Zoe Whitfield, in both cases just heading home last year’s winners in Matt Gilling and Lisandra De Cavalho.

Sam then back up to win the Men’s Open event with Lisandra coming in third in the Women’s Open, behind winner Kira Kinsey and local favourite Naantali Marshall.

There were plenty of very familiar names across the various age catefories and celebrating the Rock2Ramp’s participation in the Global Swim Series there were entrants from all states of Australia as well as from France, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.

A highlight of the day was the presentation of medals celebrating their participation in 20 Rock2Ramp swims to Alison Woodward, Jan Cheatley and Garry Johnson.

A new category this year was the Surf’n Turf which combined an entrants time in the 1.2km swim with their time in the 8km Roo Run held by the Angelsea Motor Yacht Club the previous evening. The inaugural winners were Rebecca Henderson in the female event and 13 year old Lachlan Higgins in the male category.
