What Do Your children Do At Nippers ?
A basic knowledge of water safety is vital when swimming at the beach and the Anglesea SLSC / Linfox Nipper Program aims to teach children surf awareness, surf skills, lifesaving skills and competition/teamwork skills. Nippers should end up with a good awareness of beach hazards like surf and rips and a basic knowledge of resuscitation and first aid skills. But we are not here to teach them to swim.
The Nipper Competition Events involve swimming, board paddling, wading, running, beach flags, and relays.
At Anglesea, our Linfox Nipper program caters for children from 6 to 14 and provides an intensive program over the summer school holidays comprising about 10 to 12 sessions. This is supported by involvement in State Nipper carnivals and other supporting activities and training throughout the year. Additional surf life saving competition skills are provided under our Alcoa Dolphin program.
