Worlds 2008

Rescue 2008 - Warnemunde Germany

This is an update of Angleseas' progress at Rescue 2008 where a small team are competing in a number of events..

Great news has been received overnight with Abby & Claire Lewtas, Hayley Aitkens and Sarah Bennett winning the beach relay. Hayley also placed 3rd in the flags and 4th beach sprint with Abby also finishing in 7th spot in the sprint.

The above results back up Julia Cullity who successfully defended her World Masters Title in the 30-34 Female Board Race and the Anglesea IRB team results who have capped off a very successful year by winning two gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in the 6 events contested at Rescue 2008 in IRBs. Based on the usual point system, this would equate the Anglesea IRB team being the world champion. It is another fantastic result with all 6 competitors coming home with a medal. In detail:

  • Female Mass Rescue: Gold : Julia Cullity, Rebecca Plant, Sarah Bennett, Penny Rogers
  • Female Tube Rescue: Gold : Julia Cullity, Rebecca Plant, Penny Rogers
  • Men Mass rescue: Silver : Nick Creevey, Morgan Day, Sarah Bennett, Penny Rogers
  • Female Rescue: Bronze : Julia Cullity, Rebecca, Sarah Bennett
  • Male Tube Rescue : 4, Nick Creevey, Morgan Day, Rebecca Plant

Congratulations to all our competitors...
