2008 Australian Lifesaving IRB Championships - Shellharbour NSW – Anglesea SLSC (Victoria) 3rd Place Overall
Over the weekend of Friday 20th June 2008 to Sunday 22nd June 2008, the Australian Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Championships have seen the best crews in Australia demonstrate their rescue skills.
In very tough and close racing in 2ft offshore waves and sunny conditions, the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club has finished in third place overall against the powerful NSW and Queensland and it is a sensational achievement and caps off its 2008 Victorian IRB title that we won over the Queens Birthday weekend… This is a best ever result for Anglesea in the national competition and the gold medal from Anglesea C in the female mass rescue is the first gold medal an Anglesea IRB team has won.
Overall Points result:
- 1st North Burleigh
- 2nd Kurrawa
- 3rd Anglesea
